The Lab Network Industrie 4.0 (LNI4.0) is a German association founded by companies linked to Plattform Industrie 4.0 in cooperation with the Bitkom, VDMA and ZVEI federations. It aims at helping the German medium-sized sector play a leading role in global digitization. This experimental network makes it possible to test new technologies, innovations and business models in the environment of Industry 4.0 and to examine their economic feasibility before their launch on the market.
In addition, the different initiatives offer the possibility of introducing the validated results in the standardization process. The LNI4.0 association collaborates with the Plattform Industrie 4.0 and the Standardization Council Industrie 4.0 (SCI4.0) to ensure the compatibility of competing products and solutions. The collaboration of the three organizations guarantees a reactive process of strategy and design, testing and standardization.
Responding to the conditions for participation in LNI4.0, the MicroLean Lab is the first Swiss “use case” to be integrated into the network, allowing its members to take advantage of an international showcase, to appear as providers of innovative solutions and access information relevant to standardization processes and emerging technologies.
The HE-Arc Ingénierie joined forces with the Swiss Smart Factory (SSF) of Switzerland Innovation Park Biel-Bienne for this occasion. Partner of the MicroLean Lab, the SSF brings its expertise in various fields, including that of communication standards for interoperability and data processing.
